The Story
The half dozen exists because customers kept asking for a "starter size" — which, for a sourdough bakery, was too good a name to pass up. Same recipe as the full dozen: discard from Lizz's well-loved starter worked into a brown-sugar dough, rested so the flavor gets interesting, then baked until the edges crisp and the middles stay soft. Six cookies is enough to share with one person you actually like, or to keep entirely to yourself while watching something dumb on TV. No judgment either way. They come out of the Collierville kitchen Friday and Saturday and ride home with you from Sunday pickup. Most people upgrade to the dozen by their third order. Just saying.
